My boy simply loves tau hway. Because it is soft and easy to eat, so it makes a very good snack. The ones that hawker sold is usually mixed with gypsum power (石膏粉 ), which is not good for young children. So I decided to make the tau hway myself. A super shortcut method to make this pudding.. And it took me less than 10 minutes to cook.
- Pour the soya bean milk into a pot and add in the gelatin powder. Soak and wait for around 5 minutes
- Put the pot over medium fire and cook till gelatin powder dissolves. Make sure that the soya bean milk does not boil.
- Pour the soya bean milk into containers.
- Let them cool and put in the fridge for at least 8 hours or overnight.
Mum mum’s notes:
The end product is really soft. If you like harder tau hway, you can add a bit more gelatin powder. You can replace it with jelly powder too.
