Another common dish that you can find in Taiwan night market – Squid thick soup or 花枝羹 in Chinese. I always love Taiwanese food and once a while I would go dig my collection of recipes to make the food I like. A pretty simple and effortless soup to make.

Shallot rice is also known as 葱油饭 in Chinese. Not too sure where it is originated but it is a dish commonly found in Taiwan. It is a pretty simple dish to prepare too. After cooking it, it seems to be like the one pot rice that I have cooked before. Except that it has more shallot fragrance. ^_^

I have a sudden craving for pork ribs and was cracking my head how to cook pork ribs with porridge. After looking at few recipes, I came up with this recipe. End result – sweet flavor porridge. It is a very simple way to cook an all in one porridge.

Previously I have made law pak ko (radish cake) and today I decided to make a variation to it. My friend said that it is easier to make the cake using pumpkin. And indeed, it is easier because you do not need to shred the radish. Haha.. The taste is equally good. In fact, if you have a sweet tooth, you will like this variation better.

This dish is simple to make and is an excellent side dish to go with Teochew muay (rice porridge). You can just prepare this within 20 minutes. You can even do some variation to this dish, to make it the Taiwanese braised pork (because the taste of the sauce is similar).
