Stir Fry Broccoli Flower

It was my first time seeing broccoli flower. At first I thought it was just broccoli, except that it was “broken into smaller pieces”. “Neh, it is called broccoli flower”, the vegetable uncle introduced. I have no idea how to cook it actually but I thought I should give it a try, especially when the vegetable uncle said this vegetable tasted better than broccoli. So I guess stir frying this vegetable would be the best way.  



Broccoli flower
Minced garlic
Oyster sauce
Vegetable oil


  1. Heat the wok and add some vegetable oil. Sauté minced garlic till fragrance (but not overly brown)
  2. Add the broccoli flower and continue to stir fry.
  3. Add oyster sauce, sugar and water to the broccoli flower.
  4. Simmer for around 5 minutes before dishing out.


Mum mum’s notes:

Depending how crunchy you like your broccoli flowers to be, you can increase the simmering time. The more you simmer, the less crunchy they are.
