It was my first time seeing broccoli flower. At first I thought it was just broccoli, except that it was “broken into smaller pieces”. “Neh, it is called broccoli flower”, the vegetable uncle introduced. I have no idea how to cook it actually but I thought I should give it a try, especially when the vegetable uncle said this vegetable tasted better than broccoli. So I guess stir frying this vegetable would be the best way.
- Heat the wok and add some vegetable oil. Sauté minced garlic till fragrance (but not overly brown)
- Add the broccoli flower and continue to stir fry.
- Add oyster sauce, sugar and water to the broccoli flower.
- Simmer for around 5 minutes before dishing out.
Mum mum’s notes:
Depending how crunchy you like your broccoli flowers to be, you can increase the simmering time. The more you simmer, the less crunchy they are.
