I tried many different types of pasta for my kid, but so far he only likes macaroni. And luckily, he likes it plain! :p So it is really simple and easy for me to cook. Just need some simple ingredients and you can whip up a nutritious meal for your kid within 15 minutes.
- Heat up the pot with olive oil, fry the onion and garlic till fragrance.
- Add the chicken stock, water and carrot into the pot. Bring it to a boil and simmer, continue to simmer till the carrot is soft.
- Add the remaining ingredients. Once the prawns are cooked, the macaroni is ready to be served.
Mum mum’s notes:
As the packed chicken stock can be quite salty, I will usually add quite a bit of water to neutralize the taste. And also I discover that to cook the macaroni al dente (to my boy’s liking), it will take around 10 minutes.
To cook the quail and ensure that it has “flawless” skin after peeling, you can try add a bit of vinegar and salt in the boiling water before putting the quail eggs in. You can see more details in the previous post on cooking hard boiled eggs.
