    Previously I made the Hong Kong soy sauce chicken noodle and kept the sauce in my freezer. My hubby missed the Taiwanese braised duck wings (from the local famous 老天禄) And hence I tried to “curb” his cravings by making the braised duck wings for him, hoping they tasted the same. Of course, my braised sauce cannot compare to the one used by this traditional shop, but nevertheless it was still delicious. Not very time consuming, if you happened to have kept the braised sauce. You may wish to start cooking the braised sauce from scratch too.. 🙂

    I used to lunch at this Vietnamese “fast food restaurant” called Saigon Express. I just love their pork vermicelli. To make the dish even more welcoming to me, they always give me generous amount of daikon and carrot pickles. So when this fast food restaurant closed down, I could no longer find the same pork vermicelli. Hence I decided to make my own pork vermicelli. But to do that, I have to learn to make the daikon and carrot pickles first. To me, that is one of the important ingredient of the pork vermicelli.

    I have seen many posts on how easy it was to make roast pork at home, using airfryer. I never dare to try it as it seems to be a lot of work! Well, it is. But the steps are actually quite simple, just that you need more time to prepare the meat. The rest of the work? Just leave it to the air fryer! And the final product was really crispy and it was unlike what we bought from the restaurant/food stall. It really worth my effort when I saw my hubby enjoying it! 🙂

    Happy Rooster Year!! I did not prepare this dish during this Chinese New Year but it is certainly one of the dishes that you can consider to make during this festive period (especially it is a year of Rooster!) I will say the most difficult part to do is the deboning process. The rest is just normal deep frying. One needs to be more patient when deboning. The first few “lollipop” I made does not look like a lollipop. But practice makes perfect! After deboning a few times, the “lollipop” gets better.

    It does sound simple to make. But I have failed several times before I successfully cooked the “perfect smooth skin” hard boiled egg. I have tried many methods to cook the flawless hard boiled egg. I tried salt water, I tried cold bath etc.. Nothing works for me! Then I finally found a way to cook the “perfect smooth skin” egg for my braised pork rice.
