    I used to have this vermicelli in Miss Saigon (a restaurant which was closed down.. Sadly) I love the sauce and the pork, which I cannot find the right taste anywhere now in any restaurant. So I decide to try make the same dish with the same taste. But of course, while it doesn’t taste the same as the one made in Miss Saigon, I do enjoy this vermicelli.

    I kinda of love Tokyo Chicken Stew from Soup Spoon and hence I hope to replicate it in my own kitchen. To make it a fuller meal, as compared to just drinking the stew, I decided to add some kuay teow (i.e. broad kind of noodle). But if you like to just have the stew, it makes a good warming dish as well. Nice to have it during rainy and cold days.

    I saw a Taiwanese variety show which introduced this dish. That sparked my interest. My kid loved mee suay and hope he will like a different taste of mee suay. After I googled in the net, I found that this dish is a very authentic Taiwanese food. The ingredients used are very simple and easy to obtain. It just takes me around 20 minutes to cook the whole dish.

    I always love soya sauce chicken and I miss the type that my mum always cooked for me when I was younger. But now, I hardly ever tasted that type of soya sauce chicken anymore as my mum no longer cooks that. (Maybe I should pester her to cook for me). So I went to research for the Hong Kong Soya Sauce chicken recipe and found one from johorkaki.blogspot.com and modify it slightly. The taste? Still not the same as what my mum cooked.. but the chicken is very tender and juicy. Yummy!
